King Pine Ski area is located at near the Purity Spring Resort, a great little area off the beaten path - i.e. not on route 16. We often take the road that goes past King Pine on the way to the condo in Bartlett, to cut out some traffic that plagues 16 from time to time or when you first enter North Conway. The Purity Spring resort will be a post for another time but I can say that during the summer, it is a very nice place to visit.
As for King Pine, I have not skied the mountain myself but from what I have been told by a few guests and friends, it is a great learning mountain for kids as the instructors are said to be good and the mountain is not that challenging. They do feature terrain parks though and cross country skiing so there is plenty to do. there is also a tubing park which looked fun though I have not spoken to anyone who has gone down it. Overall, it will be a mountain I think I will take my kids in the next year or two as they are just really learning how to ski. And from what I read and here about this mountain, it sounds like generally a good time.
