Continuing our updates of our Restaurant reviews we have done via yelp (and that you cannot link to for whatever reasons), today we feature the “Muddy Moose.” This is a relatively new restaurant but it is well liked if you happen to look at the Yelp reviews of it. I myself rated it a 4 out of a 5 and with each time we have attended, I have liked the place better (though the AC is a bit strong during the summer).
Anyhow, here is our review that was posted on August 27th (and coming to you today).
We took in the muddy moose which is turning out to be a very popular place every time we venture into North Conway. Nice views and has the option of eating outside or inside. One review said it reminded them of the restaurant from "the great outdoors" and I would agree though it does not have the steak John Candy had to eat! (and all the fat as well)
In terms of the food, it is good. I would compare this place to a Joe's Bar and Grille in that regard. The kids meals are good portions and the fries are average. The staff seems rushed often and the first time we visited the waitress was not particularly nice. She warmed up eventually to my kids. This time around, the waitress was very attentive and extremely helpful.
Had Crockett's chicken which was not bad. My wife had a chicken with pesto on it and she said it was dry. Mine was about right. Had the moose tracks ice cream which was good for dessert. Kids always get a 2 packet of oreo's for dessert.
The one negative I would have is they it was very cold - the AC was just pumping too hard. That however, didn't seem to matter to the 25 people waiting for a seat at the lunchtime hour.
