So let's renew a pledge to post more to the blog going forward! Ok, you have heard that one before but let me see if I can at least give you some helpful information as you venture up to the valley this summer. Our latest note today is from our latest trip to Storyland and a review of the "new" at the 'land.
So what is "new" since last year? We'll most notably the Roar-o-sorus which is the main feature of a new dinosaur theme at the park. This area replaces the circus which was a nice little show at the park and great place to take a breather while walking all day with the kids. At the same time, it was darn hot in that tent each year! It wil be missed as they did some neat tricks and it had no additional cost that one would incur bu going to the circus.
Ok, so the big replacement is the aforementioned roar-o-sorus. This new roller coaster is several levels above anything you would expect of any ride at the park. Like I have said to a bunch of people, once you ride this ride, everything else seems boring. The first turn at the top of this roller coaster looks like you are going to fall off the tracks only to dive down much like thunder mountain at Disney World. This ride is not for the average size of people that visit Storyland (ie the kids) and carries a minimum of 42 inches to ride. Great ride and even the most brave will be surprised by how many twists and turns can be done without a break in 2 minutes.
In terms of other new additions to the park, the characters have changed this year with Alice, Red and Peter Pan gone replaced by Repunzel, Little Bo Peep and Pinocchio. Theses there have a new show together and it includes the big bad rumplestilskin! I believe they have updated the food options though honestly we try to bring our own lunch or just go back to the condo for lunch.
In terms of getting to the park, if you are going to the 'land, try to get to the park the day before your actual full day after 2pm to take advantage of the deal that let's you spend the rest of the day after 2 and then the whole next day. The reason for this is 2 fold. First, you get a few extra hours of time at the park AND the next morning, with tickets in hand already, you do not have to wait in the long line to get in - you get to use the tickets with the season pass line and head right in.
That's about it for now.
