In our latest installment of things to do near our condo in Bartlett, NH, today we focus on the Cog Railway. As the website states at thecog.com, "nearly 150 years later, the mount Washington cog railway continues to provide a sense of adventure and history as it carries passengers up a 3 mile long trestle and the steepest rail road tracks in North America" to the summit of Mount Washington. The base station is located about 35 minutes from the condo, 6 miles away from Bretton woods up 302. They offer 3 hour round trips and kids 3 and under are free.
On Tripadvisor.com, out of 236 reviews, the average rating is 4 (out of 5). Most of the reviews say the views are unbelievable but the "price is steep." A few other noteworthy comments: "be sure to bundle up," "on crummy day visibility is low so don't bother" and "the ride is full of facts and humor."
