Ski Seasons is back!
It is no secret that ski season has been difficult in 2016. Heck, Attitash mountain had basically nothing open near Christmas and Wildcat Mountain, the "powerhouse mountain" that usually opens first and closes last in the Valley, is till not operating at full strength. Bretton Woods, a mountain that sports the most trails in New Hampshire, has less than Attitash...with Attitash running with 50+ trails, they hold leadership among the Valley mountains! And good luck for us at the McCartySeasons Condo because we are right down the street!
This has not slowed down the Valley
While ski season has been mediocre (but improving), that does not mean that there is a short supply of things to do. North Conway and the Conway village have been pumping out many things to do this winter and tax free shopping still exists in North Conway at Settlers Green. The chamber of commerce puts out a weekly piece called "About the snow" that covers the happenings of the "valley." For example, Fat Tire biking and Chocolate fest are just a few things to do.
Nothing like Spring skiing!
One of my favorite things to do when I am up at the condo is ski in the early spring! Those very low temps are long gone and the conditions and the views are stellar. I normally ski the morning at Attitash and then hit Wildcat Mountain for the afternoon (after I have warmed up). Well worth the visit even if we don't have availability for the weekend you want! Also the end of the season ski sales pick up and good deals can be had.
And Storyland Returns!
For the first time since we became owners in the valley, we have started renting out the summer already (normally it picks up around late March). The summer in the area has improved each year as the ski mountains ramp up their activities and the national parks offer great hiking opportunities. The lakes and waterfalls are great experiences for the kids. But the main attraction for the younger families remains Storyland! It is part of our family and make it part of yours...again even if we do not have availability because it is a good value for the price and gives you the opportunity to have a piece of Disney without going to Florida. And if you venture one hour north from our place, you arrive at the North Pole, in Jefferson: Santa's Village. Nothing like gingerbread cookies and Rudolph in the summer!
That's about it for today.
