Heading into today, I needed only a few miles to take out my May number of 113 miles run. Well, on the last day of July, I did it! Ok, not that big of a feat but a good personal goal to attain and keeps me going in my quest to be an overall better runner.
So a few points to consider this month.
All about half: I beat my June monthly miles number by the length of an half marathon...it so happened that I did not run a half marathon in June so in terms of progress, while I am running more effectively (better pace and longer average run), I am not increasing the distance much.
All About Knee Pain: The second half of July was all about my knee and the pain within it. The beginning of the month featured my fastest 4 mile, 5 mile and half marathon distances while my knee was fine. Then I had a soft period with slower runs and then a strong finish to the month as the knee pain subsided with my best 5km and 10km times. Lesson to be learned? Keep healthy!
That's about it.
