So the week is over for me from a running perspective as I completed a hills type jaunt this morning. Overall this week I ran 34 miles which I believe is a career high but if you look at it from a performance standpoint, it was not great running so to speak. I think the key for me going forward is 2 fold
First, I need to eat far better than I am eating currently. From my eating numbers, I am consuming too much "snacks" to make any headway to losing weight and if I want to be faster, I need to take my weight down another 25lbs I believe. Why do I say they? Because if you look at my numbers over the past year, my speed has been rising per mile as my weight has been dropping. I know it is not that simple but there is a correlation there.
Second, I need to do more strength training so these little bumps and bruises on my joints do not continue. When I ripped up my knee several years ago, I did some serious muscle building around the knee beforehand so the rehab afterward would be earlier. Having the muscle strong and firing properly around my knees and throughout my body is key to my success.
As for where I ran this week, it was mostly in Boston with today's coming in Amesbury.
